Some Ozzy Photos, And Misc. News Tidbits Worth A Read... (9/12/2006)

Not much news going on in the Ozzy world lately, but here are a few things worth a read:

1.) TalkingMetal.com has posted the 5th and final episode of their "Talking Metal" Ozzfest podcast. This episode features short interviews with BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's Nick Catanese and Venice Beach, California's Harry Perry, who performed with SYSTEM OF A DOWN. Topics include High Voltage, Tyler Fyer, and Sharon Osbourne, PRIESTESS and Ostronomy's VMA appearance with Axl Rose on MTV Overdrive. You can check out the podcast here.

Additionally you can check out photos of BLS, Ozzy, and other bands taken at Ozzfest here.

2.) Ozzy recently spoke about Zakk Wylde's new album, "Shot To Hell". He said "BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's new album, 'Shot to Hell', kicks ass. Right now there's not another rock guitarist alive who can go toe-to-toe with Zakk Wylde. He's in a class all by himself."

3.) A man who thought he was heavy-metal singer Ozzy Osbourne has been jailed for drugging a woman he met through a telephone chatline so he could sexually assault her 13-year-old daughter.

Arthur Fairwell, 39, of Australia was sentenced by the NSW District Court to at least six years in prison for six offences over the May, 2004, attack.

Fairwell threatened to cut the girl’s throat during the assault, which took place at the home the girl shared with her mother at Bradbury, in Sydney.

The court heard claims Fairwell was under the delusional belief he was Ozzy Osbourne.

When Fairwell learned Osbourne had allegedly had sex with a 13-year-old girl, his obsessive beliefs compelled him to do the same, his barrister said. **?**

Judge Helen Murrell said there was no evidence Fairwell was delusional or psychotic at the time of the offences.

However, she accepted he suffered from a chronic paranoid schizophrenic disorder and antisocial personality traits.

Fairwell’s mental condition made the judge reluctant to use his case to highlight the dangers of people using telephone and internet dating services.

Medical tests showed the woman and girl had consumed the sedative benzodiazepine, which can cause muscle weakness and impaired alertness.

When the mother passed out, Fairwell sexually assaulted the girl.

She was attacked in a “climate of terror”, according to the judge, with Fairwell holding her down and threatening to cut her throat if she did not shut up and do as he said.

Fairwell faces a maximum 10 years but with time already served will be up for parole in 2010.

(**?** Note from Ozzyhead: WHAT? I have never heard of any claims of Ozzy having relations with a minor... where this guy got this story from is beyond me. If anyone has details on this, drop a note in the comments section.)
